Sonu Sood’s Noble Initiative: Building a School For Underprivileged Children in Bihar
Our social media is filled with self-indulgence of celebrities and their scandals. Amongst this mindless chaos, once in a while, a celebrity pops up whose authenticity and goodwill causes a paradigm shift. Sonu Sood is one of those celebrities who are in news because of their selfless work instead of their luxurious lifestyle. Sonu Sood has been making headlines since the COVID-19 pandemic and he has taken to philanthropy as fish to water.
Sonu Sood has always been a huge believer in the importance of education in building a better nation. Education not only educates, it also emperors and bridges gaps in society. Recently, he came across another do-gooder who thought on the same lines, Birendra Kumar Mahto.
Birendra Kumar Mahto is a qualified engineer and a resident of Katihar, Bihar. He quit his job in the wake of doing something for the underprivileged children of his village.
He quit his job and opened a school for underprivileged children.
He was so much inspired by Sonu Sood that he named the school after him! Mahato set out to provide education, sheleter and ration to 110 orphaned children from Bihar.
Mahato is crusader of the cause to provide equality of educational oppurtunity and empower these orphaned children and is unknowingly playing a key role in community development.
Sood Charity Foundation is known for its numerous campaigns to promote education.
Prof. Saroj Sood, mother of Sonu Sood was a huge inspiration for hima and a driving force behind the Saroj Sood scholarship initiative. Sonu Sood, read the news about Mahato’s school and met him personally in February 2023. 27- year old Mahato made a huge impact on Sonu Sood and the actor spent quite some time with him to understand the needs of the school. Sonu Sood who is known for his social work, took the school under his wing and took note of taking care of the requirements of the school, from providing sufficient ration, to means of providing qualitry education. Sonu Sood also believes that building awareness will bridge the education gap between the rich and the poor.
Sonu Sood has also vowed to build a new building for Mahto’s endevour of teaching underprivileged children in the pretext of educating more children and providing them with a safe environment to live.
Sonu said, “Increasing access to education is one of the best ways to combat poverty. We aim to educate children from the marginalised sections of the society so that they have a better chance at job opportunities.”
He also plans to provide higher education in Bihar to these orphaned children so that they can become assets to the nation.
Education in Bihar has always been a point of awe as Bihar produces many civil services officers and initiatives like these will take the state to glory and prosperity.
